Enobia Pharma Announces the Appointment of Dr. Robert Heft as Chief Executive Officer

Montreal, Quebec, CANADA – November 24, 2005 – Enobia Pharma, announced today that it has appointed Dr. Robert Heft as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
“As Enobia focuses its Strategic Plan and prepares to bring its first compound into the clinic, we welcome the leadership and experience that Dr. Heft brings to the Company”, stated Yvon Bastien, Chairman of the Enobia Board of Directors.

Dr. Heft, has 20 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
From 2001 through 2004, Dr. Heft served as Vice-President Product Development with BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (Nasdaq and SWX:BMRN, Novato, California) after BioMarin acquired the pharmaceutical assets of IBEX Technologies Inc. While at BioMarin, the company completed the clinical development of two Enzyme Replacement Therapeutics, and launched the first of them, Aldurazyme, for the treatment of MPS1.
Prior to joining BioMarin, Dr. Heft was President of IBEX Technologies Inc. (TSX:IBT, Montreal), a company he founded focused on the development of enzyme based therapeutics for heparin neutralization and the treatment of Phenylkeonuria (PKU). Prior to IBEX, Dr. Heft served as Research Director for Continental Pharma.
Dr. Heft received a PhD in Genetic Engineering/Radiological Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986, a Master in Nuclear Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor in Engineering from McGill University.
Dr. Heft has served as a Director of the Industrial Biotechnology Association of Canada, the Canadian Genetic Disease Network and BioCapital, a venture capital fund.
